Mitsubishi – No Stranger to Risks
Mitsubishi is no stranger to taking risks when it comes to redesigning existing nameplates in its lineup. Just this year, Mitsubishi gave the Eclipse name to a whole new vehicle. Giving us the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross!
Now, another remake might be on the way for the recently-discontinued Mitsubishi Lancer. Experts are predicting it will come back to the lineup in the form of a crossover or hatchback.
The Mitsubishi Lancer vanished from Mitsubishi’s menu only recently, with the last model year being the 2017 model. However, auto publication AutoExpress says that, in a recent conversation with Mitsubishi Chief Operating Officer Trevor Mann, Mann let slip that a revival of the iconic nameplate could be on the way. The next Lancer could use the e-Evolution concept revealed last fall at the Tokyo Auto Show as a starting point for its design.
What About the Fans?
Fans of older Mitsubishi models like the sporty Lancer Evolution and the Eclipse sedan should be excited! We’re sure they can’t wait to see how the new Mitsubishi Lancer plays out. This all depends on how the e-Evolution concept’s design is applied to the new Lancer. It could be either an athletic hatch or a more practical crossover.
Either way, here at Tom Hodges Mitsubishi we will be excited to see what the brand brings out next. If you can’t wait, stop by today for a test drive in one of the other great Mitsubishi models!
