The 2018 National Cherry Blossom Festival

Every spring the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place in Washington, DC. Visitors from all across the states flock to our nation’s capital for this spectacular celebration! This year, the festival will be held from March 20th to April 15th, with numerous events throughout this period. The following dates are the days we think you and your family won’t want to miss:

Saturday, March 24th  – Opening Ceremony

Head to DC and experience the official kick-off of the National Cherry Blossom Festival! Join guests from near and far to celebrate spring and the magnificent trees gifted to the United States by Japan. The event will showcase American and Japanese musical performances and art.

Saturday, March 31st  – Blossom Kite Festival

At the Blossom Kite Festival, kite makers from the United States and other countries will show off their skills. Stop by to watch various demonstrations and competitions and bring the family and your own kites to enjoy this festival even more!

Saturday, April 7th  – Petalpalooza

Petalpalooza features a full day of fun for the whole family. Come enjoy art, music, and games on this festive day. Then end your evening with the fireworks display!

Saturday, April 14th  – National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade

National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade runs, for ten blocks, down lovely Constitution Avenue. This parade features sophisticated floats, celebrities, music performances, and marching bands from across all the states. It’s a great way to end a beautiful festival.
