Many vehicles have recalls for various reasons; however, it can be difficult to know for sure if you’ve received all the important safety notices about your vehicle. Luckily, there are several ways to learn about recalls that have been issued for your car.
According to Consumer Reports, one of the best ways to get the latest recalls is to update your registration. Make sure your mailing address and the vehicle’s location are up to date. That way, the automaker can send you all the latest information. Wade Newton at the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers trade group notes that “automakers use state registration data to send out notifications by mail, as required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.”
You can also subscribe to email alerts from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Simply enter your email and vehicle information, and the organization will send you all the information you need.
Another way to learn about any recalls is by registering through Carfax. While you may have to pay for some services (such as a vehicle history report), the brand will provide a free recall alert service that’s unique to your specific vehicle.
If you do discover a recall on your Mitsubishi, you can bring it to the Tom Hodges Mitsubishi service center to be fixed.
